Aluminum Composite Panels (ACP) are widely used in building cladding, facades, signage, and interior applications. Because aluminum and plastic are bonded, discarded ACP panels are difficult to recycle using conventional methods. An ACP recycling plant provides a way to recover these materials as reusable secondary resources.

SUNY GROUP’s ACP recycling plant combines shredding, crushing, grinding, air separation, and electrostatic separation. A low-speed, high-torque dual-shaft shredder first reduces large panels to manageable sizes. A hammer crusher and grinding system then further reduce the material, releasing the aluminum from the plastic core. Air separation provides initial classification, followed by electrostatic separation for more precise aluminum-plastic separation.

Under suitable feedstock and operating conditions, the system can produce aluminum granules with purity of up to 98%, while the recovered plastic can be collected for further processing. A pulse dust collection system helps control dust generated during size reduction and separation. The equipment is designed for ACP panels approximately 2–6 mm thick, with configurable capacities of 300–1,000 kg/h, depending on material characteristics and pretreatment. Its modular configuration allows recyclers to match the equipment setup to their feedstock and processing requirements.

The system is suitable for construction and demolition waste processors, renovation waste recyclers, scrap metal companies, and recycled aluminum producers. Recovered aluminum can be sent to conventional melting and recovery processes, while the separated plastic can be further reprocessed.
