SUNY GROUP has completed the installation and commissioning of a paper-PolyAl recycling line at a customer site in Meerut, India. The project is designed to process used beverage cartons, including Tetra Pak and milk cartons, and recover their main material components as reusable resources.

Used beverage cartons are composite packaging made primarily from paper fiber, polyethylene (PE), and aluminum. To recover these materials efficiently, the installed system first shreds the cartons and then separates the paper fiber from the PolyAl fraction. This allows the different materials to enter dedicated downstream processing stages rather than being treated as mixed waste.

The system screens and dewaters the recovered paper pulp through a filter press, then compresses it into bales using a horizontal baler. Meanwhile, the separated PolyAl material is further processed through a pelletizing system to produce uniform recycled pellets. The completed line therefore provides two main recovered products: baled paper pulp and recycled PolyAl pellets.

The successful installation gives the customer an integrated solution for converting used beverage cartons into recyclable materials. Beyond Tetra Pak and milk cartons, the system can also be configured for other paper-plastic composite packaging according to the material composition and required output. The project demonstrates SUNY GROUP’s approach to developing practical recycling solutions based on specific customer materials and end-product requirements.
