While the absence of biological contamination allows for higher recovery potential, the technical challenge lies in separating lightweight, highly entangled components without excessive size reduction or cross-contamination. To address this, SUNY GROUP applies a process-oriented mechanical separation approach, focusing on controlled opening, staged classification, and precise material recovery rather than aggressive shredding.

AHP Recycling Solution for Clean Diaper Manufacturing Waste
The AHP recycling line is engineered to handle diapers supplied in bulk, bags, bales, or retail packaging, with optional unpacking modules integrated upstream when required. A low-speed opening stage releases internal components efficiently, followed by screening and air-based separation to isolate SAP, cellulose fibers, and plastic fractions. This configuration enables stable throughput control and consistent output quality across different operating regimes.
Recovered materials meet clearly defined quality targets. SAP is separated with low fiber carryover, fluff pulp is discharged with limited residual SAP, and plastic and nonwoven fractions are recovered with high cleanliness suitable for further recycling or energy recovery. System capacity, shift patterns, and availability assumptions are defined during the design phase, ensuring reliable long-term operation in industrial environments.
In line with European project requirements, the solution includes full consideration of utilities, installation, and compliance, including installed power, dust extraction and filtration, noise control, and CE-certified safety systems. Automation is based on industrial PLC and HMI platforms, allowing centralized operation, process monitoring, and optional remote diagnostics.
